Bloomsburg Men's Soccer Falls to East Stroudsburg

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team's comeback attempt fell short Wednesday night, falling to East Stroudsburg by a count of 2-1.
After a scoreless but highly competitive first half, East Stroudsburg got on the board first. Donny Drago headed a corner from Toric Robinson past Bloomsburg goalkeeper Jon Keller (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) at the 50:18 mark. Two minutes later, East Stroudsburg's Jason Rudder broke free down the sideline and slipped an unassisted goal past Keller to put ESU up 2-0.
The Huskies answered at the 68 minute mark when freshman forward Christian Rota (Langhorne/Neshaminy) headed in a corner kick off the foot of junior Brian Darby (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) to cut the lead in half, 2-1. Bloomsburg's rally fell just short when Justin McClennan (Wyndmoor/Springfield Township) breakaway attempt in the waning minutes was stopped by ESU goalkeeper Larry Pokrywa.
Rota had three shots on goal and Dan Beshore (Mt. Wolf/Northeastern) added one shot. Keller added eight saves in goal for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg returns to action on Sunday when the travel to California, (Pa.) to take on the Vulcans. Kickoff time is set for 2 p.m.
